INSIDE THE WALKTHROUGH

One step at a time.

  1. Start a vendor record

PayHr uses the Add a vendor form for both regular vendors and T4A contractors. Begin with the vendor name you want to recognize in your records. In this example, we are adding Jordan Lee Creative. The type you choose next determines which additional information the form displays.

  2. Choose the vendor type

Choose Regular for companies supplying goods and services, or T4A Contractor when you intend to report the payments on a T4A form. Selecting T4A Contractor reveals the contractor information. This example uses Individual. Business is also available, and changes the optional identification field from a Social Insurance Number to a business number.

  3. Add contact details

Next, enter the contact information you have for the contractor. We have added Jordan’s name and an example email address, then selected Ontario and entered a mailing address. The form currently offers Canadian dollars and Canada. The name, email, province, and address fields are marked optional, so review what is relevant to your records.

  4. Review optional information

Open Enter additional information if you want to record your account or customer reference with this vendor. This section also includes phone numbers and a website. These details are optional. Keep sensitive identifiers accurate if you choose to provide them; this example leaves the optional Social Insurance Number blank.

  5. Save the vendor

Review the vendor name, selected type, and contact information, then choose Save. A successful save returns you to the contractor list with a Vendor saved notice. From that list, you can edit the record, add bank details, or create a bill when you are ready to record an amount owed.
