INSIDE THE WALKTHROUGH

One step at a time.

  1. No signed TD1 on file

Until an employee signs their TD1 forms, payroll uses the basic personal amounts. On Maya's page, a banner says no signed TD1 is on file. You can upload signed paper forms, or select Request signatures to send them electronically.

  2. Request TD1 signatures

The popup lists the forms that go out: the federal TD1 and the one for Maya's work province, Ontario. Her name, date of birth, employee number, address and SIN are filled in. Check the email, then select Send to sign.

  3. Track Sent, Signed and Applied

Each form goes out as its own signing request. The banner now tracks Sent, Signed and Applied. While Maya hasn't signed, you can send a reminder or cancel the request, and View federal or View Ontario opens each one.

  4. What Maya sees

Maya gets an email for each form. The link opens a private page where she verifies her email with a one-time code. She fills in her claim amounts, line one starts at the basic amount, then signs and finishes.

  5. Where the signed TD1 shows

Back on Maya's Taxes page, the TD1 forms card shows Waiting for signature. Once she signs both, her claim amounts replace the basic ones under Tax credit amounts, and the signed PDF is saved to her Documents.
