PayHr introduces a free payroll software plan for Canadian small businesses

BRAMPTON, Ontario — October 3, 2026 — PayHr is announcing the availability of its Free Plan for Canadian small businesses, bringing payroll preparation, timesheets and employee records into one online workspace. The plan includes unlimited employees, contractors and pay runs with no software subscription fee or trial deadline.

A workspace for recurring payroll tasks

PayHr is designed for business owners and teams responsible for gathering hours, maintaining employee information and reviewing payroll. Employers can organise employee and contractor records, prepare pay runs, review earnings and deductions, and retain payroll statements and reports in their workspace.

The product brings these recurring tasks together so a business can work through payroll with a consistent preparation and review process. Its public website includes a dashboard preview using fictional business data, allowing prospective users to explore the product before setting up a workspace.

Free software, with optional services priced separately

The Free Plan does not charge a software subscription or a per-person fee for payroll preparation. Businesses can review the separate pricing for optional payment and filing services before deciding whether to use them. A payment method is saved during workspace setup for optional usage.

Optional automated employee, contractor and tax payments are listed at CA$6 per employee or contractor per automated pay run, billed monthly. Optional automatic Record of Employment filing is CA$5 per document, and optional T4/T4A filing is CA$15 per document. Applicable taxes are additional; wages and remittance amounts are separate from service fees. Service availability is shown in the customer’s workspace.

The current plan details and pricing calculator are available at payhr.ca/pricing.

Availability and getting started

PayHr supports payroll in every Canadian province except Quebec. Businesses should confirm that the supported workflows fit their employment situations and complete the required setup before preparing their first payroll run.

Employers remain responsible for reviewing payroll information and confirming the completion of payments and remittances. Approving a payroll record is distinct from completing a payment, and businesses should check the status of the services they choose to use.

Businesses can explore the product and create a workspace at payhr.ca. The getting started guide explains workspace setup and the information to prepare.
