Salary to Hourly Calculator Canada
Compare annual salary and hourly wages with your own working schedule. See gross equivalents before deductions.

HOW IT WORKS
Use the salary to hourly
- Choose whether to start with an annual salary or an hourly rate.
- Enter the usual hours per week and number of paid weeks per year.
- Review the annual, monthly, weekly and hourly gross equivalents.
A worked example
A $60,000 annual salary divided by 40 hours per week and 52 paid weeks equals approximately $28.85 per hour. At 37.5 hours per week, the equivalent is approximately $30.77.
What this tool includes
Annualising an hourly rate assumes the same paid hours in each included week. It does not add overtime premiums, bonuses, vacation pay or benefits. Paid weeks should reflect the basis of your comparison; do not subtract paid vacation weeks a second time from a salary that already covers them. Monthly equivalents are annual pay divided by 12.
Common questions
Is this a Canadian take-home pay calculator?
No. Results are gross CAD amounts before income tax, CPP, EI or other deductions. It does not estimate net pay.
Why can two identical salaries have different hourly equivalents?
The hourly equivalent depends on scheduled hours and paid weeks. Fewer hours at the same annual salary produce a higher equivalent hourly rate.
Does an hourly equivalent determine overtime entitlement?
No. It is a comparison tool. Overtime rules and entitlement need a separate review for the worker and applicable jurisdiction.
